To better know the vineyard of the Domaine de la Motte
Surface :
The Domaine de la Motte grows around 25 hectares of vineyards bearing the Chablis appellation, from the Chardonnay grapes.

Types of sols :
All the vineyards are located in the village of Beines, near Chablis, Burgundy in the Yonne region (89)
- For Petits Chablis very chalky soils, jurassic portlandian type.
- Chablis are grown on north-facing hills as a rule, on kimmeridgian and chalky clay soils.
- The Chablis 1er Cru Vauligneau on south- and west-facing hills ; soils have more clay and kimmeridgian features.
- The Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy on south- and south-east facing hills, have soils consisting of clay, chalk and white clay that account for the lingering taste of this wine.
Wine tasting :
The Petit Chablis is a light and fruity wine which will perfectly match oysters and seashells.
Drink it within 5 years.
The Chablis is a brisk and floral wine with great freshness. It is ideal with Burgundy snails, Chablis andouillette as well as seafruit.
Dependin on the vintages, we advise to keep it between 5 and 7 years.
The Chablis Vieilles Vignes was grown on 40-year old vines. The yield is lower which enables the concentration of aromas and an outstanding roundness. The richness of this wine enables longer keeping, which will delight lovers of old Cablis.
The Chablis 1er Cru Vauligneau is a very subtle wine. Its delicacy, its roundness, its taste of gunflint make the Vauligneau a wine you can keep. It accompanies beautifully smoked salmon , foie gras as well as scallops.
We recommend that you keep it between 5 and 10 years, depending on the vintage.
The Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy Its strength enables us to raise it in oak barrels. Its aromas of roasted almonds and vanilla, its lingering taste in the mouth and its golden shades make it a renowned Premier Cru. It accompanies elegantly fish dishes in sauce, seafood and the traditional ham in Chablis sauce.
You can keep it between 5 and 10 years, according to the vintages.
The Bourgogne Pinot Noir It will surprise you with its red fruit aromas and its well-balanced flavour. It will bring some happiness to your red meat dishes and your cheeses.
We advise to drink it within 5 years.
